Join friends and neighbors on Saturday, June 23 for the Greater Chicago Food Depository's (GCFD) 27^th Annual Hunger Walk. The money we raise at the Walk will help fund the critical work of Care for Real, Edgewaters' food and clothing pantry, by providing credits to purchase food at the GCFD.

The 5K walk will start at the south end of Soldier Field, walk to 31st St. and return. Registration will begin at 7:00 a.m. and will step off at 8:30 a.m. Care for Real will walk as a group starting at 8:30 a.m. but you may start the walk any time before 9:30 a.m. You must turn in all forms by 9:30 a.m. or you will not be counted as a walker for that day.

Your participation and the donations you collect are vital to Care for Real. We provide staple foods, bread, baked goods, fresh fruit and vegetables to over 4,000 people per month. By providing emergency food, we are helping people to avoid homelessness and are ensuring a stable and healthy community.

• Collect pledges from your friends, neighbors and coworkers to support you in the walk.
• Start breaking in your walking shoes.

You can set up your own web page on Care for Real's Team Page. Use this page to collection pledges from people who wish to donate with a credit card or bank debit.

• Go to the Care for Real Team page at www.chicagosfoodbank.org/goto/cfr
• Click on "Join Team" and use the password "care for real" to sign up.
• Customize the page with your photo and your walking information.
• Link the web page in your emails, Facebook and Twitter.
• Use the page to email and thank your supporters.

The walk will go on, rain or shine, so bring a hat, sunscreen or umbrella as appropriate.

• Go to the Care for Real booth FIRST. Check this page later for maps and a specific location.
• Bring your pledge form, money and registration form.
• After checking in at the Care for Real booth, turn in your Registration Form at the GCFD booths. You MUST turn in this form to participate in the walk.
• Enjoy the food and activities. Stop back at the Care for Real booth at 8:15 for a team photo.
• But most of all - Enjoy the walk along the lakefront knowing you are helping to feed our neighbors.

If you aren't able to walk with us on June 23^rd you can still download the pledge forms and collect donations. Just turn in your pledges at the Care for Real offices by July 23 in order to be counted for the walk. You can also set up your own web page as described above to collect donations with a credit card or bank debit.
