Board Changes at Care for Real
For the past five years, Ingrid Verhulst has led the Care for Real Board with insight, dedication and knowledge. During this period, we went from being a program of the Edgewater Community Council to an independent non-profit agency, moved to new facilities, hired a new executive director and saw the number of client visits increase more than six-fold.
So it was with great reluctance that the Board accepted Ingrid's resignation as chair, effective January 1, because of out-of-town family commitments. Ingrid remains a valued member of the Board.
Vice Chair Nancy Meyerson has moved up to fill Ingrid's position as chair, and Reggie Griffin is assuming the post of vice chair. Jen Walling remains secretary and Jerry Case treasurer.
CFR added three new Board members: Kim Mendiola, manager of receiving for Bloomingdales; Brad Miller, midwest regional sales manager for Buschi, Inc., and Van Perrine, a retired marketing executive with U.S. Gypsum.
We also want to thank Nadeen Kieren, who is retiring from the Board after 15 years of service to CFR.
Kim Biggs, Larry Eaton and Tom Kmiecik round out the Board.
